Bless our lives

Having tried different approaches to the art of writing recently, I realized it had been quite some time since I wrote a romantic song, so I thought "Well, why not?". So, here it is, amateurish, sloppy, but heartfelt, as it ought to be.

I know your heart
hasn't sent for me
I know my art
is no symphony

But I'll try hard
to make my act worthy
So please don't discard
me, bad as I may be
For your taste

Chorus:
So I'll try my best
To see what you lack
To see what I have
So that maybe I can bless

And I'll try my best
To see what I lack
To see what you have
So that maybe you can bless
My life

I know I'm not
what you pictured in your mind
Maybe I'm not
the best that you could find

But I don't believe
that love has to be blind
So I'm asking you
To love me like I am
If you don't mind

Bridge:
And all I am,
The strength I have
And all my plans
Since we have met

And all I'm not
But all I've got
I'll take all the best years
Of my life and youth
And spend them all on you
