My hypocrisy
Made me write down this poetry
The words I spoke,
What they meant, I didn’t know
(I) got myself together somehow
After having to crawl
And beg God to clean my faults
Before I started to fall
I was tired of trying
And never reaching
Yeah, no one was ever buying
What I was preaching
I thought I knew it all
I thought I needn’t get a call
To do my Father’s work
I really was a big jerk
Or maybe I was blind
Thinking I was fine
But couldn’t really see
what that was doing to me
But this is what he said
Instead of getting mad

And I'll never forget
